The water, beaches and land of the U.S. and the Caribbean have
always enriched my spirit and being. Martha's Vineyard, Monhegan,
the Outer Banks, Boca Grande, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, wherever,
whenever, always enhancing my soul, my life. The sights, sounds,
energy and beauty of the sea and the world are what I wish to share
with you.
As a child, I was always drawing, sketching, coloring, painting,
and playing in the sand. When furthering my education at Harris
Teachers College, painting and ceramics were included in my
coursework. While teaching elementary school, obtaining my
masters in Counseling from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and
starting my family, a lot of my personal art work was set aside.
A few years ago, I took two painting courses at Meremac Community
College. I also started drawing with craypas at Boca Grande,
Taos, and other locations and upon returning to St. Louis would paint
from those sketches. Currently working at a garden center, the
plant material, displays and encouragement of my co-workers engage my
spirit.
With a great deal of interest and support in my paintings by
family, friends, designers and gallery owners I know that I must
follow the direction being presented and step through all the open
doors. Using brushes, pallet knife, thick oils, acrylics,
spatulas, my fingers, glue, sand, glass, the color and energy flows. With all of this energy surrounding me, many positive things are
happening.
